Arkessa will partner with Avnet-Silica at Embedded World (Nuremburg, Germany) this week to demonstrate over-the-air (OTA) SIM profile switching based on eSIM and eUICC technology.
The GSMA specification “Remote Provisioning Architecture for eUICC v3.1” was developed for non-user operated M2M/IoT devices with secure and autonomous OTA provisioning being a fundamental requirement.
A key element of the solution is the Arkessa global roaming e-profile which serves as the default connection profile for eUICC and as a bootstrapping function. This is pivotal in enabling Enterprise back-end systems to perform remote subscription management and e-profile switching according to their own business needs.
The benefits of eSIM and eUICC are multi-dimensional and will be a positive influence in Enterprise IoT growth especially in areas such as Logistics and Distribution and then beyond that in Sales and Marketing. eUICC-based solutions can make X-as-a-Service business models easier to deliver and enable service partners to get creative with data plans to match different usage scenarios based on location, user credentials, service plans and features.
